The SolarEdge power optimizer is a DC/DC converter that is connected by installers to each solar module. SolarEdge power optimizers increase the energy output of PV systems by continuously monitoring the maximum power point (MPPT) of each module individually. The power optimizers further monitor the performance of each module and communicate the performance data to the SolarEdge monitoring platform to ensure improved and cost-effective maintenance at the module level. Each power optimizer is equipped with a unique SafeDC™ feature that is designed to automatically reduce the DC voltage of the modules to a safe level whenever the inverter or grid power is shut down (unless connected to a StorEdge inverter operating in backup mode).
